Rosedale Abbey

Set in the heart of the rolling hills of Rosedale all that remains of the Cistercian Priory is a staircase, sundial and single stone pillar. The village Church was built from the stone of the Priory – as were many local farm houses and buildings following the Dissolution of the Monasteries by Henry VIII in 1535.
